On September 22, 2020, BAPS volunteers in Texas joined Senator John Cornyn in a virtual discussion led by BAPS volunteer, Jignesh Patel.  Senator Cornyn commended BAPS and BAPS Charities for the remarkable contributions made in Houston and across the state of Texas, specifically during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Senator Cornyn described various legislative proposals within Congress, including recovery plans to assist individuals and businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and plans to address immigration reform. As the founder and Co-Chair of the Senate India Caucus, Senator Cornyn reinforced the Caucus’ bipartisan efforts to promote a strong, collaborative partnership between the United States and India.

Senator Cornyn also stated, “India will always have a friend in Texas and by extension to the entire United States,” as he spoke about strengthening opportunities in both countries through supply chains.

We thank Senator Cornyn for taking the time to speak with members of the BAPS community.
